A happy customer – in one of my very first comissions.

Home visits are now a new option for the customer, who don´t want to or haven´t got the time to visit my Atelier.

If you have read about the Procedure under Service and are ready to order a Made-to-measure dress or suit for a special occasion,  you know what to expect.

After our initial meeting, I can even offer to find some fabric samples or we can look at fabrics together, if you prefer that.

As you know by now, made-to-measure takes time, therefore I recommand you to make an appointment in advance. An appointment secures you full attention.

I´m looking forward to help you out.

This One-of-a-kind Tulip dress was what came out of all the impression I had accumulated recently. I have always been inspired by the 1960´ies and especially by style-icon, Audrey Hepburn.

At the same time I wanted to create something stylish, that wasn´t mainstream and stood out. The result was a long Tulip dress made of a underlined turqoise silk-taffeta combined with black lace with a low neckline and sleeves. The dress is supported by a light corset, to hold it up.

This particular dress is a size 4-6, but something similar can be made-to-measure upon request. Take a look at Services, to know how.

Another long and a short variation of this tulip dress is coming along.

Pièces d’automne

One-of-a-kind pieces, like the ones I’m currently working on, always takes time to do. Because I am doing it all myself, from designing/developing the idea to making the pattern, cutting the fabric, preparing and putting it all together.

This tailor-made Autumn jacket is made out of a very special fabric that I had in stock – a cotton blend with a bold flock-pattern/-technic. It’s about a size 8, if you should be interested.

I kind of like the different structure and pattern of the jacket and dress together. What do you  think about it ?

The story behind the dress is, that I saw the fabric a few years back in Denmark. It was to special to let go, so I bought it without knowing what to make of it.

Finally I decided to make this pretty simple, but elegant eveningdress with a similar asymmetric cut as the top-edge. It is about the same size as the jacket.

This is the dress, that Maripier Morin would have worn at the KARV, l’anti.gala.  As seen in LouLou Magazine, August 25, 2015.

When I first saw this wonderful fabric, my imagination started working and I knew, I just had to have it. -And what was more obvious than creating a romantic summer dress ?

The dress is of course One-of-a-kind and made of a heavy cotton, fully lined and boned, with an extra layer of tulle for fullness and about size 4-6.

I always had a preference for simple design. Because I think the woman should  be the center of attention, not the dress. The dress should merely enhance her personality.

This one-of-a-kind, creme-coloured two piece wedding dress is a combination of textures and would be perfect for a spring or summer wedding.

The corset is made of silk-damask and fully boned, lined and laced. The skirt is made of a tulle with flower-effect, is fully lined and finished off with a silk-dupion. This dress is about a size 8-10 and is still available.

Une Question de confiance

DSC_0024_edited-1

To have dress made-to-measure is a very personal and delicate experience of indulgence – it is a matter of trust.

As a starting point, I am always open for every commission. I always take the time and listen to accommodate the wishes of my clients. We discuss the purpose, the possibilities, design, what they like and what will suit them.

To inspire and give the client more options, I usually show them a variety of my own unique designs and dresses. On top I offer to design a range of personal models with them in mind as well.

If we agree on a design and a price range, we proceed. Every step of the process is explained, so they know what to expect and we avoid any misunderstandings. If you are interested, read more under Services.

10-03-2011-16-01-14-814_edited-4Ensemble – asymmetric skirt and short jacket

Currently I am working on completing quite a few dresses at the same time. On top I bought new fabric, that I have cut already. Ideally I should concentrate on one at the time. Hopefully these posting will help me to stay focused, to finish them up one by one.

I am planning to offer these One-of-a-kind dresses, as they are completed. I´m excited to release them as soon as possible. They are all about a US size 6-8. Of course they can be made-to-measure upon request.

By entering your email below, you will be the first to know when a dress is completed.

La Vision créatif

anncharlottviolet

My creative vision is a passion and a way of expression. To create clothes for the memorable moments in life, to create something extraordinary that has great value for people.

Working to create stylish clothes takes time though. I get through a creative process, from the idéa, design, patternmaking, cutting and fitting to executing the final product.

Generating the idéa is the creative part of the process. The planning of how to do it, is the theoretical part. Where as the execution is pure crafting.

To create a unique product from scratch, that is one-of-a-kind, is extremely satisfying. If you are tempted and want to know more, read all about the Process under Services.

Couture Vs Prêt-à-Porter

100_1944Picture from my 10th Anniversary exhibition.

Have you ever wondered, what the difference between Couture and Prêt-à-Porter  is ? What marks one from the other ?

A couture dress for example is usually a special commission and made-to-measure. It is adjusted more than once to obtain a perfect fit and executed to perfection in nice quality fabrics. It is an investment and will last longer.

This is a time consuming process and the price will reflect that. But you will end up with a unique dress, that is one-of-a-kind and will make you feel quite special.

If you get a dress like that made on order, the price will depend on what kind of dress it is, the cut, details, fabric and the way it is executed. Personally, I always prefer to agree on a price-range in advance.

Prêt-à-Porter on the other hand is of course cheaper, because it is standard-sized and produced on a larger scale  in Asia or eastern Europe for example, where the quality and salery expenses are much lower.

Except for the major fashion houses, Prêt-à-Porter is usually more affordable, but you will not stand out.
